I’m real tired of seeing skinny white kids painted as THE AVERAGE QUEER. Like please show me a curvy Indian agender kid from Brooklyn, a hispanic lesbian and her black girlfriend. A trans demisexual dude from Korea. GIVE ME SOMETHING OTHER THAN LANKY PALE PEOPLE WITH COLORFUL HAIR PLEASE GOD.
Ok Dr. Phil’s wife, Robin, (yes groan, but listen up) has this new app out (iPhone and Android) that’s for people in abusive relationships. It’s called Aspire News and it’s disguised as a regular news app, but when you go to the “Help” section of the app, it leads you to…
So… this was the 1st episode I’ve watched all the way through without having to stop & absorb what the fuck I’ve just witnessed.
It wasn’t terrible.
But I don’t know if that’s because I’m more or less expecting all of the assholery of these over-privileged snots; or if they’re just starting to try & tie up loose ends? *shrugs*
HyoShin. Why do the writers have it out for this character? Why can’t this poor guy catch a break? And what the fuck is up with these Korean parents?
They’re all like: “I’m old. I knew a few shit that used to be relevant 3 decades ago. I totally know what’s best for you now. Forget all your own aspirations and dreams, YOU DO WHAT I SAY OR ELSE!!!”
What in all of the cardinal fuck??
The only person that seems to be at least fractionally concerned about their child’s actual desire is Esther. (Secretary Yoon & Birth Mama too, but we’re talking heavy weights right now).
They have not given these kids any room to grow as human beings. I agree with Cha Eun Sang when she said they were all brought up wrong.
And speaking of Miss Goof-Troop herself.
I don’t understand how this girl is still living in these people’s house! I literally cannot comprehend. I do not follow how she is still willingly attending this school. Cannot fathom how she ends up taking orders from this old man as if he got his finger on the kill switch for her life. It may be a cultural thing that I’m not getting, but I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to take anybody, anywhere against their will, EVERYWHERE.
And dude if someone is going to threaten you, and you’re actually going to feel threatened, it shouldn’t be a sickly, bass ackwards, obviously fucked in the head brittle old man with like 6 minutes left on the death clock.
Shoot. Old dude look like somebody else need to trip for him fall and never get back up. Breeze blow on him too hard, he catch pneumonia and die.
Anyway. I don’t get it.
Kudos to Kim Tan for being cool enough to take the rap for Young Do and getting his bull dog of a daddy off his back.
That’s a next one we need a ditch for.
Okay I got to confess: I have a weakness for Won and that suit he was wearing when he showed up at the school. Goddamn, he looked good! And I just about had a soft spot for him, till he had to go fuck it up by getting mad at Tan for like… existing!
I have issues with that issue personally, as that IS my experience in life. I AM the bastard 2nd child in my family. So, I do identify with Tan there. And I also identify with him on the point where all you want to do is love your older sibling and they religiously treat you like shit on the bottom of their shoe, just for being alive.
The thing about this show that I notice is that none of the things that ought to be said point blank and out right ever are. If they were I’d probably be a lot less frustrated with this show. But I mean, for example: Why doesn’t Kim Tan just do what I did to my sister & tell his brother: “Hey! Square up, get smart and act right! I am not your enemy. My being here is not my fault anymore than it’s your fault you’re here. You got a problem with me having what I have? Then talk to your daddy.Take all your issues there. I might not be legitimate but I for damn sure wasn’t put here so you could take all your daddy issues out on me!!”
Won is a smart man. He knows the reason why this was orchestrated. He knows who did the orchestrating. He knows what is going to happen because of this convoluted plot. Why isn’t he better prepared? And why is he still fucking taking it out on his little brother???
Ugh… that hurts my head to think about.
HyunJoo needs a vacation from ALL of her situations in the worst way. Like seriously. Does no one in that high society believe in the concept of SPACE?
I’m not exactly sure what’s supposed to be going on with her & HyoShin anymore… Did she like him??? I don’t even know, ‘cause if this drama has taught me anything about romance in Korea it’s that even if the girl shows absolutely ZERO interest, says ‘no, not a chance in hell, buddy’, or straight up says ‘leave me alone, go back to your fiance, i don’t like you'… it doesn't mean she's totally against the idea of being with the guy on question (?!), she's just playing hard to get. (tha fuck?!?!!?)
Either way… that kiss with Rachelwas just all of the ICK factor for me in this episode. Just...just NO.
Young Do behaved like Young Do, but what else is new? He’s fabulous! And more importantly— still growing.
Rachel needed another smack. Crash someone else’s party, RUIN someone else’s party THAT SHE SPECIFICALLY WASN’T INVITED TO. Cause a scene that nobody needed.
Then this broad has the audacity to cry ‘cause her & Tan aint engaged anymore. Sweetie that ain’t how you treat a person you have feelings for. ESPECIALLY after you have help nurture their feelings for another person.
Someone needs to tell these kids.
Money is not affection — people don’t like you because you have it (they like your money) and no matter how much money a person has, you aren’t entitled to like (or fear) them
Money is not manners — you DO NOT get to be rude to everyone just because you have it. Gon’ fuck around one day and die by a broke person’s hand for being an asshole.
Money is not knowledge — you having money don’t equal you knowing shit!
Money is not wisdom — cause Lawd, some of ya’ll dumb as fuck *cough* KimTan
Anyway, I’m voting Daddy Kim off the island. Maybe we’ll get lucky and he’ll have an aneurysm in his sleep.
And oh! Did you see the way the ChairWoman nearly shit when the Old Man threatened to take Won off the family registry? Fracking PRICELESS!
In other news, my OTP didn’t see each other ONCE AGAIN.
When will they let Mama Cha & Young Do’s love be???
it’s funny how when a white person decides to learn a foreign language and move to another country, he’s lauded for his sense of adventure, multiculturalism, appreciation of diversity and god knows what else
but when a person of colour does the same thing it’s all “fucking immigrants stop stealing our jobs go back to ur own country!111!!!”
The Last Word on Ep. 14 >> Oh God this isn't even fun anymore
Alright you decided not to completely demolish YoungDo’s positive progression. Good for you writers. Way to think smart
And ya best didn’t fuck wit the BoNa Chan Young dynamic either!!!!
But now comes all the oh so convenient situations in which we’re supposed to start appreciating Kim Tan now and his behavior (because after all, he’s the hero).
Now he’s supposed to be cute & growing up and maturing and n-nope. Still the same spoiled itchy ass crack.
Sorry, I tried. I can’t do it.
And now he’s not much different than Stella’s ‘boyfriend in America. Living off of ES. Well, not really. But the dialog and the direction he seems to be going in now makes it seem as though he not that far from it.
How long b4 Eun Sang is pushing her mother down on the sidewalk to steal money to run away?
Okay, that might be a bit of an exaggeration but… it’s not like it couldn’t happen.
And alright I was pleased to see that Cha Eun Sang got some of her bad-assery back (slapping the dysfunctional fuck out of Rachel) but what happened to the rest of it?
And why in all of the raw salmonella carrying fuck is she still taking orders from this dude like she a puppy in training???
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Cha Eun Sang is a disappointment as a heroine. AND I hope with all of the stitches of my heart that the way she allows herself to be treated and the way Kim Tan feels like it’s okay to treat her (i.e: like property) is NOT an accurate portrayal of the gender dynamic in Korea.
If it’s not then I would like to see an accurate portrayed at least once. PLEASE. I’m curious.
Didn’t feel sorry Ye Sol last episode; don’t feel sorry now. I have two words for that trick » GLASS HOUSES
Somebody get my poor HyoShin off that crazy life called his life!!!
I don’t get his mom! It’s not that he wants like somebody else I know (starts with a K ends with an im-Tan. Cause seriously what does he plan to do for money in the future? Live off his brother?? Somebody tell that fool that Love “Ain’t All You Need”), he wants to be a productive member of society. Just not doing what his parents want him to. Somebody give this boy a voice! And a break! Geez.
K. So at this point I’m rooting for Eun Sang to end up with Myungsoo, or just be alone. The last option would be best.
I never thought either Kim Tan or Young Do was a healthy choice for her. They both just seemed to be the only options which I was given. But since the people making the show already decided to take the annoying predictable, BORING route (!)… well you know how that one go.
My Ship didn’t get interact with each other ONCE AGAIN!
And in case you didn’t know, that’s Mama Cha & Young Do
Spilling some sparking water on the carpet for my homie Young Do & all his character progress.
'Cause ya know they gonna go fuck that up now right?
Tryna make Tannie-chan the hero still.
Poor guy. All he wants is a little attention. And her to like him. I don’t even think it has to be romantically.
I think it probably just rocked his world from the first time he saw her in the bike shop. A female who wasn’t afraid to carry her own weight. And wasn’t being a cut up with guys in order to get things from them, and also wasn’t throwing herself at him.
Sigh* Poor guy. And all he wants her to do is go back to being that little feisty thing that challenged him on the street corner. Go back to being the girl that only wanted to go and do her honest work instead of flirting with guys for tips.
It probably kills him to see her all weepy every 5 seconds, because of everything in relation to Kim Tan. I understand why he threw her in the pool. He wanted her to wake up. Wake up and become the fighting spirit again. That’s why he’s so delighted when she threatens him. When she gets in his face. He knows she strong. He likes her strong.
But he can’t win. Because she’d rather be wet paper for Kim Tan’s sake. That’s probably the main issue between them right now. Him & Tan that is. Young Do likes he fire. Likes to see it roar. Kim Tan wants stifle the flame and keep it on a candle.
Okay. I get that in watching a show from a different country, that I’m going to encounter things that make me go “Tha fuck? Never’d see that shit in FPO!”
But I’m sorry. No. You’re going BACK to the house where the ‘scandalized woman’ in a round about way called you a whore.??? And why? because her son wanted you?
I get that Kim Tan is handsome (well, let’s just say that he is) and that he & Cha Eun Sang had some sort of mystical adventure in America where he was nice. And helped her out, ‘cause she didn’t know the lay of the land (which really was just the humane thing to do).
But obviously, that Tan is long gone.
This Kim Tan is just a fucking brat. And you know what, so is Young Do. He knew the world he grew up in? Didn’t Daddy Kim & the Chairwoman raise him as their son? Everyone else is educated and knows their positions in their society. Knows what’s at stake if they fuck up.
How is it that he’s the only elite child that is so irrevocably stupid? It’s not that hard to figure out!!!
Dude, if your freedom were that important, he would have asked to go to America with his mother to live quietly. And now what, because he wants to play heretic everyone is going to suffer???
As a matter of fact, I think the only ppl not directly affected by his ignorance is HyoShin (poor thing) and Myungsoo.
Cha Eun Sang may be broke, but I believe that she can do better than both the leading men. It’s a shame the writers didn’t make it so she thought so too.
I respected her character at first, but now, I’m disappointed. I thought she would be a female lead that finally wasn’t a damsel in distress despite her situation.
… I’m seriously questioning if this if how the women are treated there in Korea!
If so, then rescue them, ALL OF THEM.
If not, then, ALL of the writers need therapy.
ALSO: I now ship Young Do & Mama Cha; the two of them being my favorite characters
BTW> How they just gon’ fuck with Yoon Jr & BoNa’s vibe like that??? That’s like the only (sorta) healthy relationship on the show!! Ya’ll fucking up the rotation now! GET RIGHT!!!
Is.. is this really what romance is in Korea??? Boy stalks & harasses girl and she in turn submits? Tha Fuck???
Is Cha Eun Sang a dog? Or some domestic animal and/or pet?
I know she’s a fuckin idiot
She taking orders from this fucking psycho now?
Really, tho? REALLY???
You passed up a confident, rapidly maturing, sexy as fuck, responsible, respectful specimen — that encourages to be strong on your own; stand up for yourself »> Young Do (that not only listens to, but respects your thoughts and opinions & situation), for Kim Fucking Tan’s obsessive, psychotic ass?!!!!
Girl no. Just no
WHO IN ALL OF THE FUCK IS WRITING THIS SHOW?!!????!!!
